Not flying nor failing

coz I am determined to bounce back

though late

hanging on to the last letter

pouring thoughts in random order

a heart crying out for the world we live in

a voice calling out to all sentient beings

ha! universe, you didn’t deserve what you got from us

how have we failed you! how!

how have we strangulated the proud lions

the ferocious tigers

the magnificent leopards

the wise elephants

the busy bee

the flying splendors

the sagacious trees spreading shade

the waters which cannot now wash our sins

as we rush to make amends

we are pulled into the swamp of our own dirt

yet we try, we try

so pardon, pardon our poor ignorant deeds

for the great man said

‘O! judgement, thou art fled to the brutish beasts’

but have we failed to learn from the wisdom of the world

the knowledge of the tribes

the voice of the ancients

the cry of the skies

the roar of the mountains

the silent whispers of the land

the anger of the seas

pardon! pardon!

we owe you much

help us redeem our pledge to make good
