dumb dumb dying
in the eyes of prying
so it is now
and so it will be
for many more days to come
oh no, don’t lift a finger
nor should you stop or linger
coz there is really nothing to do
what’s to done is done
nothing can now be undone
coz its dumb dumb dying
in the eyes of prying
oh, watch the lands a-sinking
watch the hills a-gliding
hear the trees stop crying
no more birds are chirping
coz it’s dumb dumb dying
in the eyes of prying
surging waters rally
buildings come up silly
minting money filling pockets
children crying not to bother
coz it’s dumb dumb dying
in the eyes of prying
preach the gods non existent
sing the songs that meaning not a thing
tell the stories if any
laugh out before sorrows too many
coz it’s dumb dumb dying
in the eyes of prying
PS: Sinking cities across the world, climate change is real

Among the most telling acts in this tragedy:
buildings come up silly
minting money filling pockets
In addition to the halting rhytm, which then changes to a wave-like flow–each line’s sounds calling attention to the meaning, I especially appreciate how “silly” works here.– in at least three different but relevant ways, whether intended or not.. In general, throughout your poem the varied, seemingly child-like music alone conveys what many feel-about this issue– frustrated, puzzled, angry, sad. (That’s part of the appeal of poetry. Sometimes words or phrases take on a life of their own. But you already know that, I can tell.))
I’ll pass this one on, but I’ll use the PS line as a title (without “PS”). Nice job on a not-nice prospect..
