From Scratch

If you have listened to Reese Witherspoon’s impassioned speech on the portrayal of women in Hollywood asking in a squeaky voice, ‘what do we do now?’ rather than going about the business of doing it, you would definitely have some expectations of her kind of films/series.

Intrigued to see a 44 year old Zoe Saldana essay the role of an ambitious black girl adamant on pursuing art much against the wishes of the man of the family, who prefers something safe and reliable as career, resonated deeply.

Well, a good watch, Zoe looks beautiful and her man the chef guy does too, besides the visuals are a bit of a food porn, considering the fact that one of the male leads is a successful chef.

The script is based on Tembi Locke’s From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home.
