Kumari – A review

I already love Aishwarya Lexmi, for her confidence and go-getting attitude, which is rather badass, if you ask me.

I thought of the confidence, the actress would have had in the story to do the film. Steeped in the incessant struggle between the dark forces versus man, set in the depth of an abandoned forest inhabited by a tribal community, Kumari builds on the familiar narrative of the ‘dark forest’ and the fear it invokes!

As a student of Environmental Communication, I am wondering of the association of dark to evil, and the thick forest to evil again or unknown mysterious powers.

During my research on sacred groves, I heard this narrative often, of the thickly forested land and the fear it invoked!

Decent story telling, though! Give it a watch!
